4 Easy Ways To Keep Your Skin Nourished
4 Easy Ways To Keep Your Skin Nourished
Frighteningly cold temperatures, harsh
winds, heaters steadily blaring and the fight to keep our skin nourished
continues… Until now.
We may be able to escape the freezing
temperatures by hiding out in our homes, but it seems impossible to keep
our skin nourished in this dry weather. The overall lack of humidity in
the air pulls moisture out of our skin quicker than tickets sell out
for Hamilton. We have gathered some pampering tips that will leave your
skin feeling like you just stepped out of the spa. Well, almost.
Turn Down The Heat
I don’t know about you but I love a long, hot shower when the
temperatures are less than ideal outside. It may feel great, but the
steamy waters opens up your pores and dehydrates your skin. Swap out
those lengthy showers for shorter ones with warm water. Once you are
out, pat your skin dry and apply lotion when your skin is still a little
damp, which helps locks in moisture.
Polish & Brighten
Exfoliation is essential! It keeps your skin smooth, which helps
products really sink in and work better. Our skin naturally regenerates
by shredding old, dead skin cells, but sometimes we have to help out in
this department. If we do not exfoliate then thick, dry skin can form.
Try exfoliating once or twice a week, but be gentle! Too much
exfoliation can aggravate your skin and that’s can make it even worse.
Treat Yourself
Splurge and try applying a hydrating mask once or twice a week, which
will work wonders in repairing your skin. Or, you could channel your
inner do-it-yourselfer and make your own Homemade Honey & Lemon Face Mask. For super soft and nourished skin, just combine ½ ripe avocado, one teaspoon of plain yogurt and ½ teaspoon of honey.
Nourish From The Inside Out
Make sure that you are drinking at least eight to ten glasses of water a
day. This is told to us all the time because it is good for our overall
health, but staying hydrated packs a huge punch in the form of skincare
benefits. Also, try to incorporate omega-3 fatty acids into your diet,
it will help your skin to retain moisture. Try to eat more salmon or
take the easy route by taking a fish oil supplement daily.
